Also known as dwarf marsh grass, is an aquatic plant belonging to the genus Eleocharis and the family Cyperaceae. It is native to North America and is characterized by its short stature and thin, creeping stems. The leaves are long and narrow, and the stems can reach up to 15 cm in height. The flowers are small spikes that usually appear at the base of the stems.
In freshwater aquariums, Eleocharis pusilla is often used as a ground cover plant or for aquascaping projects for a "grass" effect in the bottom of the aquarium. It needs bright light and a steady supply of nutrients for optimal growth. It is also used in sandboxes and terrariums to cover the ground.
