The Red Tiger Lotus exists throughout Africa. It grows in small waters, lakes, and fast-flowing rivers. The good thing is that it has two different types of leaves, both on the same plant: it actually produces two leaves. One grows straight towards the surface and becomes a very sturdy floating leaf. The other leaf DOES NOT grow towards the surface, and is much smaller and softer. When you want to remove old leaves, you should cut them at the root and not in the middle of the stem.
