Pithecellobium dulce is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae, subfamily Mimosoideae. In Reunion, the tree is called Tamarin d'Inde and sometimes Tamarin de l'Inde. In New Caledonia it is called Campèche or Faux bois de Campeche.
The species is native to Mexico, Central America and northern South America. It has been introduced and naturalized in the Caribbean, Florida, Guam and in Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines. It is considered invasive in Hawaii.
REMARKS: before any use of natural products , it is preferable to let them drain for several days in water outside the aquarium, or even boil them for a few minutes.
